President Trump’s Golden Visa Plan Gains Momentum Ahead of 2025 Elections

Trump’s proposed Golden Visa program, offering U.S. residency for a $5 million investment, gains traction as a premium alternative to the EB-5 visa in 2025.

In a significant development ahead of the 2025 presidential elections, former President Donald Trump is pushing forward with his ambitious Golden Visa initiative. The proposed program, set to offer U.S. residency and a path to citizenship in exchange for a $5 million investment, is being described as an elite alternative to the traditional EB-5 investor visa.

According to sources close to the campaign, Trump’s team has finalized the core structure of the U.S. Golden Visa, which is being marketed to ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) across the globe. The program is designed to attract the world’s wealthiest individuals to the United States, encouraging them to contribute to the American economy through substantial capital inflows.

While no official bill has yet been passed in Congress, the Golden Visa USA is shaping up to become one of the most expensive investor visa offerings globally. By comparison, the EB-5 visa requires a minimum investment of $800,000 and mandates the creation of at least 10 full-time U.S. jobs. Trump’s Golden Visa, on the other hand, would reportedly waive the job creation requirement in favor of a more straightforward investment model.

A $5 Million Shortcut to U.S. Residency?

If approved, the U.S. Golden Visa would provide successful applicants with:

•Immediate permanent residency (Green Card)

•A simplified pathway to U.S. citizenship

•Visa benefits for family members

Trump’s plan appeals to wealthy individuals looking for long-term security, global mobility, and a high-quality standard of living in the U.S. Analysts predict that the program could generate tens of billions in revenue if implemented, with early interest reportedly coming from Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Industry Reactions and Investor Interest

Immigration attorneys and investment migration experts have reacted with cautious optimism. Many acknowledge that the demand for premium residency products is high, especially as countries like Portugal and Spain tighten their own Golden Visa programs. In fact, some major global firms—including Cantor Fitzgerald—have already begun offering pre-registration or interest lists for the proposed program.

The promise of U.S. residency without the long processing times or bureaucratic hurdles of EB-5 is proving attractive to those seeking speed and certainty. Still, legal experts warn that the initiative will require significant regulatory review, and its passage through Congress is far from guaranteed.

A Political and Economic Strategy

For Trump, the Golden Visa proposal also plays into his broader political strategy—promoting the U.S. as a premium global destination for investment, while simultaneously boosting the domestic economy without increasing taxes on American citizens.

It also represents a shift in immigration rhetoric: while focusing on restrictions for undocumented migration, the campaign positions this policy as a “wealth-positive” immigration solution that invites the world’s most successful individuals to build their lives in America—legally and profitably.

Global Comparisons: Where Does the U.S. Stand?

If enacted, the Golden Visa USA would instantly rank among the world’s most expensive investor visa programs, surpassing offerings from countries like Switzerland, Austria, and New Zealand, where investment thresholds typically range from $2 million to $10 million.

Unlike many European or Caribbean programs, however, the U.S. offers the unique advantage of access to the world’s largest economy, elite universities, and global business hubs like New York, Silicon Valley, and Miami.

What Comes Next?

While enthusiasm is growing among migration agents and international investors, the program’s success ultimately depends on its legal viability and political will. Whether Trump returns to the White House or not, the introduction of a high-tier investor visa could influence future U.S. immigration policies.

With the global elite actively looking for new opportunities amid political instability in other parts of the world, Trump’s Golden Visa could redefine how the U.S. approaches investment migration—turning the country into one of the most exclusive residency destinations worldwide.
